"Over a decade ago a group of supporters of Palmer Home for Children decided that they would host an event that would help raise awareness of our new campus which had just opened outside of Hernando. They thought that a fun night of eating crawfish and dancing under the stars was a great way to enjoy the company of friends and celebrate a new charity’s arrival to area. Their efforts led to the very first Mudbug Bash. Since that first party, the Mudbug Bash is now one of the premier outdoor festivals in DeSoto County. Each year nearly 1,000 people flock to Hernando’s historic square for an evening of fantastic food and fun friends. Along with the great food, this year’s crowd will also enjoy bidding on incredible items in our silent auction and dancing to the sounds of Dr. Zarr’s Amazing Funkmonster. Mudbug Bash is the kickoff party of the spring, and we are looking forward to a great night on the square! All attendees must be 21 years or older."
