Job Description

Healing Hearts Child Advocacy Center (CAC) is a non-profit organization that provides a safe, child friendly environment for victims of child abuse and neglect to receive support, resources and services. Healing Hearts CAC is located in Southaven MS.

Healing Hearts CAC is seeking a full-time mental health therapist to conduct outpatient individual therapy for children ages 3-17 who may have experienced abuse or witnessed a crime. The mental health therapist will be responsible for intake assessments, treatment planning, individual and family therapy, and conducting treatment assessments.

The requirements for the full-time mental health therapist position are a minimum of a master’s degree in social work or counseling, ability to work independently and as a team, ability to work effectively in complicated and/or crisis situations, and strong communication and organizational skills. The position will require the mental health therapist to provide therapy sessions at least two days per week in Tate County and the other days at Healing Hearts CAC in DeSoto County. Family Advocate

Healing Hearts Child Advocacy Center is a non-profit organization that provides a safe, child friendly environment for victims of child abuse/neglect to receive support and resources. Family Advocates play a critical role in supporting the non-offending caregiver to enable the support of the child. Family Advocates are utilized in all child abuse cases to ensure children are receiving trauma-informed, evidence based services and other resources needed. Family Advocates know their communities and all the resources to assist families from the beginning of an allegation through the case closure and beyond. Family Advocates often provide support services/referrals, crisis intervention, needs and trauma specific assessments, resources and any other services the family may need.

The requirements for the full time Family Advocate position are a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology or related field, ability to work independently and as a team, ability to work effectively in complicated and/or crisis situations, and strong communication and organizational skills.
